Boys move into winning streak, girls grab sixth win

School is out, and the Jesup J-Hawks are busy at the diamonds.

The boys closed out their second week of baseball games with a record 5-1, taking wins from Aplington-Parkersburg in their second and third games of the season, Hudson, and New Hampton. Their only loss of the season so far came in their opener against North Linn where they took a narrow 9-10 loss against the #8 2021 preseason ranked team and 2020 state competitor.

The girls’ softball team ended the week with a record of 6-4. After defeating Aplington-Parkersburg in their opening double header, they took two wins in their second game day May 29.

Jesup took a 12-8 victory over Vinton-Shellsburg and a 16-4 win over West Central that day. They then fell against Hudson in two games on June 1 and took anther loss against AGWSR on June 3 before coming back with a 1-0 win over Springville on June 4.

On June 5, the J-Hawks defeated Keokuk at the Iowa City West Tournament but fell to Bettendorf.
