Watch for survey this week via mail and online
Online and paper surveys are scheduled to be available January 13 to Jesup residents. The survey is the result of discussions back in October among concerned citizens on improving the quality of life in Jesup.

The short survey asks a few questions about demographics. It asks if the respondents have utilized Community Rec programs or participated in the BCHC Wellness Center in the past.

The survey lists many fitness programs that could be offered at a wellness center, and activities that might be offered by a community center, and asks which ones are of interest. There is also an opportunity to add options that are not listed.

Finally, it also asks what hours those facilities would need to be available.

In October, many diverse ideas were brought up by City residents. Jesup Community Schools superintendent Nathan Marting, Jesup Recreational Sports director Brock Sabers, and Buchanan County Health Center CEO Steve Slessor were present to answer questions.

Following that meeting, those three representatives met with Jesup Community Center Committee members Todd Rohlfsen and Curtis Schares to discuss ways the different organizations could work together to best serve needs. That work has resulted in the community survey that will be available this week.

City residents should be looking for a postcard in the mail which will direct them to the online survey site. Residents who would prefer not to answer online may complete a paper survey available at the Jesup Public Library. There is also a QR code app on the postcard enabling some cell phones to go directly to the Google App.

The group will be evaluating the responses in a few weeks so interested parties should respond promptly.
