Robert Lawrence “Bob” Kresser
Family services will be held 10:30 a.m. - Thursday, July 2, 2020, at St. Athanasius Catholic Church, Jesup. The mass will be live streamed for the public on the church website, www.saintaparish.com, then click on the first button for YouTube.
Public graveside service is scheduled for 11:30 a.m., Thursday at St. Athanasius Catholic Cemetery, Jesup. Military Rites will be conducted by Nugent-Demuth American Legion Post #714 of Gilbertville, IA.
Visitation will be Wednesday, July 1, 2020, from 1:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m., at the White Funeral Home, Jesup, IA, with a Knights of Columbus Rosary recited at 2:00 p.m. Masks and Social Distancing will be required. Bob will be cremated prior to the visitation.
Memorials will be directed to St. Athanasius School in Jesup and to UnityPoint Hospice in Waterloo, IA.

Bob was born November 2, 1946, in Waterloo, IA, the son of Francis Edward Kresser and Irma Catherine (Schmit) Kresser. He graduated from Don Bosco High School in Gilbertville, IA, with the class of 1964. He served in the United States Navy from 1966 – 1970. On November 21, 1970, he was united in marriage to Jacqueline Rita Youngblut at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Raymond, IA. Bob was a welder and worked 35 years at John Deere in Waterloo before retirement. He was a member of St. Athanasius Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus Council #8227 both in Jesup and Nugent-Demuth American Legion Post #714 in Gilbertville, IA. He was also a member of United Auto Workers Union Local #838 in Waterloo.
Bob is survived by his wife, Jackie of Jesup; two daughters and sons in law, Amber Kresser and Pete Coltoff of Chicago, IL, Tessa and Charles Mysak of Waterloo, three grandchildren, Kaden Coltoff, Makena Coltoff and Kyree Sisk; four brothers, Tom (Sally) Kresser of Prairie du Chien, WI, Kenny (Marge) Kresser of Waterloo, Rick (Joan) Kresser of Raymond, Joe (Lynette) Kresser of Independence, IA; three sisters, Mary Ireland of Cedar Rapids, IA, Sharon (Jim) Collier of Center Point, IA, and Beverly (Pat) Murphy of Lansing, IA.
His parents and one brother-in-law, Robert Ireland, preceded him in death.
