Don Bosco ushered in the start to their seasons with a pair of wins June 15. The teams traveled to Dunkerton where the #6 preseason ranked 1A Don Bosco baseball team took a 24-1 victory against Dunkerton. The Don Bosco girls had another dominating win with a final score of 15-2.
In the boys’ game, Cael Frost had four RBIs and four runs, including a home run. The team had six strikeouts.
For the girls, Don Bosco had three home runs: two from Kennedi Purdy and another from Jenna Brown. Julia Thiry had three hits and two of the team’s 14 RBIs. Josie Hogan led the team with three RBIs and a double.
The boys traveled to Alburnett on June 17 where they fell to the preseason ranked #7 1A Pirates 8-2. Don Bosco trailed 1-4 at the end of the first inning. They earned their final run in the seventh. Lewis Havel batted one run in. Fischer Ohrt hit a single and double. Cael Frost landed another double. The runs were scored by Frost and Ohrt.
Vs. Columbus Catholic
That same night, the Don Bosco girls hosted the first home game of the season. They took on Columbus Catholic. Bosco struggled to land a run until late in game. They fell to the Sailors 1-6.
