Jesup falls to Mount Vernon in second round regionals
Jesup’s season ended in a five round matchup in Mount Vernon on Oct. 29 as part of the second round of 2A regionals.

Jesup held the lead in the first two rounds with scores of 25-22 in both sets. Home team Mount Vernon turned the game in the next two sets with scores of 25-18 in both the third and the fourth. The continued their push in the fifth and claimed the victory with a final score of 15-7.

Jesup battled hard, as evidence by their 41 kills. Kendra McCombs led with 13 kills followed by Leah Becker with 11, Bobbi Thomas with eight, Jamie Thoma with five, and Jenna Jensen with four. McCombs also had two aces. Alexis Harris, Caelor Wymore, and Thoma also had an ace.
