Jesup J-Hawks host cross country invitational
Fall finally hit the cross country runners on Oct. 3. The J-Hawks hosted their invitational at the Jesup Golf and Country Club.

The meet, rescheduled from earlier in the week due to rain, welcomed 29 teams between the middle school, JV, and varsity programs on the chilly October afternoon.

The varsity girls moved up one spot in the rankings to become the 2A #5 team before the Jesup Invitational. Jesup’s two ranked individuals earned top ten spots at the meet amongst 112 runners. Amanda Treptow (#8) finished in fifth at the event with a time of 19:47. Natalie O’Connor (#11) finished in ninth at 20:13. The team finished fifth out of 16 teams.

The varsity boys finished fifth out of 17 teams and competed amongst 125 runners. Logan Zuck was the first to finish for the varsity boys, placing 19th at 17:58.

Syndey Thoma finished third against 94 runners in the JV girls’ matchup. Overall, the team finished in sixth out of nine teams. The JV boys finished seventh out of 11 teams.
The middle school girls had three top-ten finishers: Clare Wright in second at 9:20, Mackenzie Wilson in fourth at 9:25, and Olivia Nesbit in seventh at 9:41. Kaleb Zuck finished ninth in the middle school boys race at 9:15.
