Jesup golf hosts season opener
The J-Hawks teed off for the first time this season, taking on Denver at home on Apr. 1.

The varsity boys fell to Denver, 238-210.

Cole Oberbroecking finished fourth with a score of 53 points, falling just two strokes behind Denver’s first place golfer. Gavin Nolan tied for seventh, scoring 60 at the meet. Brayden Menuey finished in ninth with 62 points and Alex Flaharty in 10th with 63.

The JV lost to Denver, 250-223.

Cole Bucknell finished first with 54 strokes, followed by Nolan Evans in seventh with 59, Andrew Boleyn in ninth with 67, Steel Rolison in 10th with 70, and Peter Thoma in 11th with 72.

Girls Win Over Denver

The varsity girls fared better against Denver, coming out on top with a score of 271-323. The J-Hawks finished in the top four spots: Rachel Clayberg in first with 66 strokes, Kenedy Backes in second with 67, Grace Distler in third with 68, and Alle Borgerding in fourth with 70.

The JV girls defeated Denver, 255-263. Alexis Harris was the first place finisher with 58 points. Riley Mihm took third with 64, followed by Jamie Thoma in fourth with 65, Bri Lingenfelter in sixth with 68, and Kalista Schutte in a three-way-tie for seventh with 69.
