Jesup J-Hawk girls celebrate victories
The Jesup varsity girls’ basketball season began on Nov. 19 at North Tama. The J-Hawks secured a 67-21 victory in their season opener. Jesup took an early lead in the first quarter, ending it 19-4. Emily Treptow led in scoring with 19 points.

Other double digit scorers were Brittany Lingenfelter with 14 points and Jaima Tonne with 11. Both Emily Treptow and Brittany Lingenfelter scored two 3-point shots. Defensively, Payton McHone led with seven rebounds. Brianna Lingenfelter had eight of the team’s 21 assists and nine of the team’s 30 steals. Emily Treptow had the team’s only block.

On Nov. 27, the team traveled to BCLUW, Conrad and celebrated another victory. The final score was 59-34.
