Veterans Day to be observed in Jesup
Open to the community, the annual Veterans Day program will be on Thursday, November 8 at 10:45 AM at Jesup Community School in the South gym.

There will be performances by the Jesup band and choir as well as a guest speaker. All veterans and their families are welcome to join the Jesup NHS for lunch immediately following the program.

The Pump-Scheer American Legion post in Jesup is having its annual Veterans Day Dinner on Saturday, November 10, with the social hour beginning at 5:00 p.m. and dinner at 6 p.m. at the Legion Hall. The dinner is not open to the general public, only veterans and their families and guests.

On Sunday, November 11, there is a ceremony at 2 p.m. at the Buchanan County Courthouse dedicating the beginning of the Operation 11th Hour project, a Veterans Memorial project on the west side. In the event of inclement weather, the event will be held at the Fellowship Hall of Immanuel Lutheran Church, 512 5th St. NE, Independence.
