Sherilyn “Sheri” R. Waring
Jesup – Sherilyn “Sheri” R. Waring, 74 years old, of Jesup, IA, died Monday, October 8, 2018, at NewAldaya Lifescapes, Cedar Falls, IA.

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. - Friday, October 12, 2018, at the American Lutheran Church, Jesup, IA, with Pastor Kristen Corr Rod officiating. Music will be by Shirley Bergman, organist and Brandon Waring, soloist. Casket Bearers will be Matthew Waring, Brett Waring, Brandon, Waring, Justin, Waring, Ryan Durham, Lauren Durham, Shannon Waring and Amber Waring. Burial will be at Strawberry Point Cemetery, (Cass Township Cemetery), Strawberry Point, IA.

Visitation will be 4:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m., Thursday, October 11, at White Funeral Home, Jesup, IA. Visitation will continue for an hour before services, Friday at the church. Memorials may be directed to the family.

Sherilyn Rae Van Mill was born May 22, 1944, in Waterloo, IA, the daughter of Cornelius Jacobus Van Mill and Ardeth Helena (Yokom) Van Mill. She graduated from New Hartford High School with the class of 1962. On April 20, 1968, she was united in marriage to Eugene Harold Waring at the First Baptist Church, Cedar Falls, IA.

Sheri worked at the Jesup Community Schools in the cafeteria for a number of years. She was a member of the American Lutheran Church in Jesup. She enjoyed doing household chores and being a servant for other people. She loved traveling with her family to bluegrass festivals. She enjoyed playing cards and watching sports on T.V. She loved being with family including her NewAldaya family. She especially loved her lunches with her sisters, every Tuesday.

Sheri is survived by her husband of 50 years, Eugene Waring of Jesup, IA; 1 daughter, Susan Durham of Jesup, IA; 2 step-sons, Michael (Chris) Waring of Jesup, IA, Mark (Sandra) Waring of Walker, IA; 10 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; 4 sisters, Donna (Jim) Chapman of Waterloo, IA, Velda (Ron) Timmermann, Judy Van Mill, and Lori (Steve) Nelson, all of Cedar Falls, IA.

She is preceded in death by her parents; 1 sister, Marvyleen Gregory; and 1 son-in-law, Jesse Durham.
