Weight Loss Challenge!
Need some motivation to finally work on losing some of that pesky winter weight gain so many of us experience while supporting a great cause at the same time? Here is your chance! Jesup Elementary will be doing a 12-week healthy challenge. Anyone is welcome!

The Challenge:

You will only weigh in two times, once at the beginning and once at the end of the 12 weeks. Weight loss will be determined by the percentage loss as this makes it fair for everyone. (Weigh-out weight subtracted from weigh-in weight then divide that number by initial starting weight. Take that number and multiply it by 100 and you get your weight loss percentage.)

$25.00 is due at weigh-in. Checks are to be made out to Jesup Elementary.

The Challenge will run from today, Wednesday, January 10 through April 4. Discreet weigh-in will be Wednesday, January 10 from 7:00 a.m.-8:00 a.m. or 3:30 p.m.-4:00 p.m. in the School Nurse’s Office.

Weigh-out will be Wednesday, April 4 at the same times and location. If these times do not work for you, contact Nurse Christy VanBrocklin to schedule another time within 24 hours of the scheduled dates at 827-1700 EXT: #6. It is expected that you will not wear “heavy” clothing during the weigh-in.

The Motivation:

Of course, a few less pounds is awesome motivation! However, sometimes a little “extra” motivation is needed. The first place challenge winner will receive 40% of all registration proceeds. The second place challenge winner will receive 15% of all registration proceeds. The third place challenge winner will receive 5% of all registration proceeds. Jesup Elementary will receive 40% of the registration proceeds which will be used to pay for playground upkeep and purchases.

Contact Christy VanBrocklin, School Nurse, for more information at 827-1700 EXT#6 or email: cvanbrocklin@jesup.k12.ia.us.
