DEWAR – Marlyn William “Bill” Widdel, 80 years old of Dewar, IA, died Friday, February 5, 2010, at his home from heart failure, following a lengthy illness. 

Mr. Widdel is survived by his wife, Arlene Widdel of Dewar; five daughters, Susan Hauptly of Dunkerton, Patricia Knebel of Dunkerton, Leanne (Wayne) Musch of Waterloo, Julianne (Ben) Allaway of Des Moines, and Katie Widdel of Dewar; also 15 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Robert and Leonard Widdel; one sister, Maxine Crane; and one grandson, Lucas Hauptly.

Funeral services were 11AM Monday, February 8, 2010, at St Francis Catholic Church – Barclay, rural Dunkerton, with Fr. Kenneth C. Stecher officiating. Burial was at the church cemetery with military rites conducted by Nugent-Demuth American Legion Post 714 of Gilbertville, IA
