JESUP – Wayne Ammond Yearous, 82 years old of Independence, IA, and formerly of Jesup, IA, died Friday, December 11, 2009, at the West Village Care Center, Independence, IA, of natural causes.
Mr. Yearous is survived by two daughters, Sheila Bloxham of Vancouver, WA, and Janice (Jim) Cameron of Jesup; two sons, David (Sue) Yearous of New Hampton and Douglas (Lois) Yearous of Spokane, WA; 10 grandchildren; five great-granddaughters,;and one brother, John (Ruby) Yearous of Sumner. In addition to his wife, Mr. Yearous was preceded in death by his parents; one granddaughter, Brook Yearous; and one sister, Elizabeth Dempster.
Funeral services will be 1:30 PM Wednesday, December 16, 2009, at the First United Methodist Church , Jesup, with Rev. Vicki Reece officiating.
Burial will be at the Cedar Crest Cemetery, Jesup, where military rites will be conducted by Pump-Scheer American Legion Post 342 of Jesup.
Friends may call from 4-8 PM Tuesday, December 15, 2009, at the White Funeral Home, Jesup, and for an hour before services Wednesday at the church.
