JESUP – Melvin C. Youngblut, 77 years old of Jesup, IA, died Wednesday, June 3, 2009, at West Village Care Center in Independence, IA following a lengthy illness.
Mr. Youngblut is survived by his wife, Donna of rural Jesup; six daughters, Debra (LeRoy) Ward of Waterloo, Pamela Miller of Rowley, Denise Dao of Dumont, Barbara Myers of Waterloo, Laura (John) Sager of Grundy Center, Wendy (James) Hosek of Elma; five sons, Larry (Brenda) Jacobsen of Dewar, Stephen (Kim) Jacobsen of Waterloo, Daniel (Lisa) Jacobsen of Grundy Center, Brian (Tish) Jacobsen of Dunkerton, and Monte (Crystal) Jacobsen of Grundy Center; 26 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Madelyn Frost of Waterloo and Shirley (Arthur Jr.) Trebon of Beverly Hills, Florida; and one brother, James J. (Lenora) Youngblut of Jesup.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Cleo, Arthur “Tommy” and Charles Youngblut; one sister, Gladys Klunenberg; and two grandsons.
Funeral services will be 10:30 AM Monday, June 8, 2009, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Gilbertville, with Fr. Dennis J. Colter, celebrant. Burial will be at St. Joseph’s Catholic Cemetery, Raymond, with Military rites conducted by Nugent-Demuth American Legion Post 714 of Gilbertville, IA.
Visitation will be anytime after 3 PM Sunday at the White Funeral Home, Jesup, where there will be a Parish Rosary at 4 PM and Vigil Service at 7 PM. Visitation also for an hour before services Monday at the church in Gilbertville. Memorials may be directed to the Bosco System in Gilbertville.
