JESUP – Phyllis L. Yearous, 76 years old of Independence, IA, and formerly of Jesup, IA, died Sunday, May 31, 2009, at the Buchanan County Health Center, Independence, from cancer.
Mrs. Yearous is survived by her husband, Wayne of Independence; two daughters, Sheila Bloxham of Vancouver, WA, and Janice (Jim) Cameron of Jesup; two sons, David (Sue) Yearous of New Hampton, and Douglas (Lois) Yearous of Spokane, WA; 10 grandchildren; five great-granddaughters; two brothers, Ronald Chandler of Independence and Michael (Kathy) Chandler of Watertown, WI; and one sister, Patricia Colton of Cedar Rapids. She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Marcia Peteavage; and one granddaughter, Brooke Yearous.
Funeral services will be 10:30 AM Friday, June 5, 2009, at the First United Methodist Church, Jesup, IA, with Rev. Vicki Reece officiating. Burial will be at Cedar Crest Cemetery, Jesup.
Friends may call from 5-8 PM Thursday, June 4, 2009, at the White Funeral Home, Jesup, and for an hour before services Friday at the church. Memorials will be directed to the First United Methodist Church and to Cedar Valley Hospice.
