Jesup baseball begins season 3-1
The Jesup baseball team launched into their season with a double-header against Sumner-Fredricksburg at home on May 22.

In their first matchup, Jesup secured the win 5-1, keeping Sumner-Fredricksburg from scoring until the final inning. Kresser Brodie batted three runs in. Cade Nolan secured two runs. Dylan Brown, Fischer Ohrt, and Alex Moore each scored one run.

Cade Nolan had eleven strikeouts in the six innings he pitched. Dylan McCombs pitched in one of the innings, striking out two.

Jesup scored another victory in the second matchup, winning 8-4. Josh Johnson batted in two runs. Brenden Seibert, Jase Pilcher, and Alex Moore batted in one run each. Runs were scored by Cade Nolan, Josh Johnson, Dylan McCombs, Brendon Seibert, Fischer Ohrt, Dylan Brown, and Alex Moore.

On May 24, Jesup played North Linn, losing 0-11. North Linn came on strong, scoring 6 runs in the first two innings. Dylan McCombs was the only player able to make a hit for the J-Hawks.

On May 30, the boys traveled to Delhi to take on Maquoketa Valley. They came out victorious with a 6-2 win. Brendon Seibert, Fischer Ohrt, Dylan Brown, and Zach Mead batted in four of the runs. Josh Johnson and Dylan McCombs scored two runs a piece. Josh McGill and Fischer Ohrt each scored an additional run.
