Allen J. Voshell, 71, of Jesup, Iowa died on Wednesday, March 28, 2018 at his sister’s home in Maynard, Iowa.

No funeral services are planned at this time.

Allen Joseph Voshell was born April 20, 1946 at Waterloo, Iowa the son of Alfred Burdette and Lillian Clara (Bickert) Voshell. He graduated from Jesup High School in Jesup. Allen proudly served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. After 45 years as a couple, Allen and Mary Dee Schmidt were united in marriage on July 12, 2015. Allen was employed at Wonder Bakery and Lady Luck Casino as a baker. He enjoyed spending time outdoors fishing, hunting and trapping. He also enjoyed spending time with his family and going out to eat at the Butter Milk Café.

Allen is survived by his wife: Mary Voshell of Jesup; son: James Voshell of Jesup; granddaughter: Madison Voshell of Jesup; and 3 sisters: Pam Skinner of Maynard, Cheryl Davis of Lime Springs and Mary Good of Maynard; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; niece Shawna Skinner and two brothers-in-law: Jim Skinner and Dan Schultz.
