Girls win two, lose two
Jesup’s girls’ basketball team overwhelmed North Tama 57-30 in the season’s first game Nov. 20.

The J-Hawks shot 45% from the floor and 72% from the free throw line. Top scorers were Emily Treptow with 16, Brittany Lingenfelter with 15, Allison Flaharty with 8, Payton McHone with 6, Brianna Lingenfelter with 6, Leah Borgerding with 4 and Samantha Yexley with 2.

In the second game of this young season, the girls lost a close one to BCLUW, 35-30 on Nov. 28.

Top scorers were Jaima Tonne with 8, Brianna Lingenfelter with 7, Allison Flaharty and Brittany Lingenfelter, both with 6.

Jesup beat Union of LaPorte City Dec. 2, 42-32. Emily Treptow was the top scorer for Jesup, with 16 points. She made 7 of 8 free throws. Other scorers included Leah Borgerding with 7, Jaima Tonne with six, Allison Flaharty with five and Payton McHone with four.

Dubuque Hempstead outscored Jesup 53-23, in the NICL shootout at Upper Iowa University Dec. 3.
