Arthur Charles Kass
Dunkerton – Arthur Charles Kass, 95, of Cedar Falls, IA, and formerly of Dunkerton, IA, died Monday, September 11, 2017 at his home at Bickford Cottage in Cedar Falls.

Arthur was born on December 11, 1921, in Orleans, NE, the son of Charles Peter Kass and Mary Ann (Thoma) Kass. Arthur attended school in Nebraska and later in Iowa. On October 27, 1948, he was united in marriage to Rosalie Marie Sadler at St. Athanasius Catholic Church in Jesup, IA. She preceded him in death September 4, 1984. Arthur farmed all his life and was on the board of directors for the Dunkerton CO-OP for 19 years. He also worked for the Black Hawk County Assessor’s office. Arthur enjoyed ballroom dancing, traveling to tractor shows and going on antique tractor adventures. Arthur was a member of St. Francis Catholic Church–Barclay, rural Dunkerton, IA.

Arthur is survived by one daughter, Colleen (Larry) Angen of Dunkerton, IA; one son, Kenny (Charlene) Kass of Dunkerton, IA; four grandchildren, David Angen, Stephen (Ashlie) Angen, Kim Kass, Jenny (Steve) Ferson; 4 step-grandchildren, David (Kim) DeBuhr, Tracey (Scott) Stillwell, Luke Fettkether, Stephanie Turner; 4 great-grandchildren; 6 step-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; 3 brothers, Alfred Kass, Raymond Kass, and Arnold Kass; 6 sisters, Rosa Ambrosy Barth, Armella Sadler, Marcella Ambrosy, Magdeline Kohler, Philomena Phillips, and Mathilda Phillips.

Funeral services were 10:30 a.m., Thursday, September 14, 2017, at St. Francis Catholic Church–Barclay, rural Dunkerton, IA, with Rev. Jeffrey Dole as celebrant. Music was by Deb Weber, organist, Todd Rohlfsen soloist and the St. Francis Choir. Casket Bearers were David Angen, Stephen Angen, Steve Ferson, Carl Kass, John Phillips, and Jerry Kass. Burial was in the church cemetery. Visitation was from 4–7 p.m., Wednesday, September 13, at White Funeral Home, Jesup, IA, where there was a Parish Rosary at 4 p.m. and Vigil Service at 7 p.m. Visitation continued for an hour before services at the church on Thursday.
