Don Bosco girls basketball season stats are released

Season statistics for the Don Bosco Girls Basketball team were recently released for the season just ended.

Allison Rottinghaus led the Don Bosco team in several categories.

Allison scored 400 points in 24 games for 16.7 points per game. She was 155 of 302 field attempts for 40.6 percent.

Allison made 88 of 149 free throws attempted for 59.1 percent. She led the Dons in rebounding with 253 caroms, which averages to 10.5 rebounds per game.

She had 73 assists, which was second on the team, 71 steals, which was second on the team, and she led the Dons with 40 blocked shots.

Jenn Ortner was second on the team in scoring with 233 points, which was an average of 9.7 points per game. Jenn was 101 of 249 shots attempted from the field for 40.6 percent.

She made 30 of 65 free throws for 46.2 percent. She was second on the team in rebounds with 203. She had 37 assists, 25 steals, and 28 blocked shots, second on the team.

Leah Rottinghaus scored 181 points, an average of 7.5 points per game. Leah connected on 74 of 264 field goal attempts for 28 percent.

She made thirteen 3-pointers, for an average of 22.8 percent to lead the team. Leah was 20 of 45 in free throws for 44.4 percent.

She had 104 rebounds, 64 assists, and led the team in steals with 92.
Taylor Even scored 110 points. She was successful on 45 of 136 field goal attempts for 33.1 percent. Taylor was second on the team with ten 3-pointers, for 33.3 percent.

She made 10 of 24 free throws for 41.7 percent. Taylor had 106 rebounds, fourth on the team, She led the team with 75 assists and 60 steals.

Taylor was assigned to guard the opponents’ top scorer, game after game, and she did a very commendable job on defense.

Cate Paulsen scored 92 points. She was 36 of 133 from the field for 27.1 percent. She was 20 of 41 from the free throw line for 48.8 percent.

Cate had 128 rebounds, which was third on the team. She had 27 assists, 27 steals, and 11 blocked shots in her first year of Varsity play.

Kyndal Gardner scored 48 points. She was 19 of 78 from the field, for 24.4 percent. Kyndal was third on the team with six 3-pointers, for 33.3 percent.
She had 7 rebounds, 17 assists, and 14 steals.

Melissa Ament scored 45 points. She was 18 of 75 from the field for 24 percent. Melissa was 9 of 14 from the free throw line for 64.3 percent, tops on the team.

She had 63 rebounds, 10 assists, 4 steals, and 23 blocked shots, third on the team.

Julia Monat scored 35 points. She made 15 of 63 field goal attempts for 23.8 percent. She was 5 of 20 from the charity stripe for 25 percent.

Julia had 63 rebounds, 44 assists, and 16 steals. Her level of personal play really improved as the season progressed.

Olivia Rigdon scored 12 points. She was 5 of 29 from the field, for 17.2 percent. She was 2 of 10 from the line for 20 percent.

Olivia had 13 rebounds, 11 assists, and 4 steals.

As a team, Don Bosco scored 1,156 points in 24 games, an average of 48.0 points per game. The Dons were 468 of 1,409 attempts from the field for 33.2 percent.

Don Bosco made 32 of 126 3-point attempts for 25.4 percent. The Dons were 188 of 377 free throw attempts for 49.9 percent.

The team captured 940 rebounds, had 358 assists, 313 steals, and they blocked 106 shots.

Don Bosco completed the season with an 11-13 record overall, and 8-9 in Iowa Star Conference play.
