JESUP – Raphael G. “Red” Kerkove, 72 years old of Jesup, Iowa, died Sunday, March 7, 2010, at Allen Memorial Hospital, Waterloo, IA, following a short illness.

He was born May 25, 1937, at Jesup, the son of Raymond John Kerkove and Helen Marie (Habben) Kerkove. On August 27, 1960, he was united in marriage to Linda B. Olson in Elgin. Red worked as a machinist for Hawkeye Metal Spinning in Jesup before retirement.

Mr. Kerkove is survived by his wife, Linda, of Jesup; two brothers, Kenneth (Marilyn) Kerkove and James “Jim” Kerkove of Jesup; and one sister, Janice (Gary) Sagers of St. Simons Island, GA. He is preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Robert and Laurence Kerkove; and one sister, Marlene Ohl.
