Dunkerton girls run 2nd at Tripoli

Six events were won by the Dunkerton High Girls’ Track team last week, as the Raiders did manage to get some competitive action in, despite the rainy weather.

The Raiders finished second in a meet at Tripoli with 124 team points.
Sumner-Fredericksburg was first in the meet with 156 points on May 1.
The day was overcast and cloudy with the temperature of 65°.

Sarah Waskow of Dunkerton threw the Discus 100’7” for an all-time high and third place in the event.

Kayla Waskow won the Shot Put event with a heave of 35’11 and 1/4”, a season best.

Senior Amanda Broten took part in the Discus and Shot Put events for the Raiders.

The Dunkerton 4x800 Meter Relay team finished second with a time of 11:32. Sarah Waskow, Jessica DuBois, Ashley Duncan, and Danica Delong ran in the event for the Raiders.

Jillian won the 100M Dash in a time of 13.6 seconds, and Jillian was second in the 200M Dash in a time of 28.9 seconds.

The Dunkerton Distance Medley Relay team took first place with a time of 4:42. Jillian Jones, Megan Joens, Kris DuBois, and Sarah Waskow comprised the team.

Danica Delong took second place in the 400M Dash in a time of 1:08. It was her best time of the year.

The Raiders won the 4x200M Relay team and took first place in a time of 1:55. Jillian Jones, Megan Joens, Kayla Waskow, and Kris DuBois made up the team.

Danielle Graham finished third in the 100M Hurdles.

Jessica DuBois took third in the 800M Run with a time of 2:50.

Kris DuBois won the 400M Hurdles in a time of 1:12.

The Dunkerton Sprint Medley Relay team took second with a time of 2:02. Megan Joens, Danielle Graham, Kayla Waskow, and Danica Delong ran for the Raiders.

Sarah Waskow was third in the 1500M Run in a time of 5:40.

Dunkerton won the 4x100M Relay with a time of 53.5 seconds. Megan Joens, Danielle Graham, Kayla Waskow, and Kris DuBois comprised the team.

In the final event of the evening, the Raiders took third place in the 4x400M Relay with a time of 4:50. Jessica DuBois, Ashley Duncan, Rebekah Hosford, and Danica Delong made up the team.

The Invitational scheduled for April 28 at Edgewood was cancelled due to cold and rainy weather.

The Iowa Star Conference Meet was held at Hudson on May 6.

Girls’ Districts will be held at Edgewood, on Saturday, May 10, beginning at 10 AM.
