INDEPENDENCE – Gary A. Doan, 69, of Independence, Iowa died Friday morning, May 2, 2008, at the University of Iowa Hospital in Iowa City, Iowa following a long illness.
He is survived by his wife Collette; a son, Aaron (Susan) Doan, Independence; a daughter, Sheila (Todd) Ogden, Naples, FL; three grandchildren, Alexa Doan, and Scott and Kayla Ogden; and two brothers, Steve (Virginia) Doan of Independence, and Kirk (Laura) Doan of Lee Summitt, MO. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services will be held at 11 AM Monday, at the First Baptist Church, Independence with Dr. David Larson officiating. Friends may call from 1 to 8 PM Sunday at the Reiff Funeral Home & Crematory in Independence where a masonic service will be held at 7 PM Sunday. Inurnment will be held at a later date.
