DB student injured in 2-car crash - On Wednesday, July 1, Jenna Weber, 17, was driving west on County Road D47, where the road meets with Benson Shady Grove Avenue, eight miles south of Jesup. She was struck in the driverís side door by Jennifer Huber of Marion, who was traveling north, towards Jesup. Jenna was on her way to band practice at Don Bosco High School, at around 8 am that morning, and had Ava Troyer, 9, Madelyn Troyer, 5, and her younger brother, Jacob Weber, 12, in the car as well. Even though Jacob was in the front passenger-side seat, he was able to exit the car after the crash and call 911. Everyone involved was taken to Allen Memorial Hospital in Waterloo. Jenna was later taken to Iowa City to be treated for her injuries. Pictured above is her car after the accident.

New Head Basketball Coach Joe Smeins hosted a basketball camp at Jesup High School last week and had the courts filled with young players learning strategy and playing games to increase their skills on the court. Coaches were current JHS Basketball Team athletes, as well as other teachers and coaches. It was a fun-filled week for the group. Pictured above are the boys who were at camp on Thursday, July 16.
